Things to do

2008 February 1
by Catherine

I’m self imposing an internet hiatus for the next few days. This will enable me to:

- spend time with the in-laws
- watch Ireland trounce Italy (oh please, oh please)
- go car shopping, round two
- get utterly pampered
- read lots (hopefully finish this and this)

I’ll be back on Pancake Tuesday – I’m thinking we’ll be having crepes with lashings of the most amazing sounding ice cream ever

I’m a big AM Homes fan, though This Book Will Save Your Life is nothing like her best. Still I’m sure it wasn’t as disappointing as number two on your list.

I’m afraid of what might happen to us this coming weekend.
Will the French animals actually feast on our shitty carcases after they take us to school and give us a lesson in Rugby.

Red – sorely disappointed I’m afraid, it ground to a rather abrupt halt about half way in and I just couldn’t stick with it. Next on my list is The Road once Oran’s finished with it, so pleased to read your review!

Suse – pancakes redux plus a go at ice cream making if I’m up this weekend, I promise!

Econgirl – right on both counts, which Homes book should I go for next?

Pedro – you paint a grim picture but I fear you may not be far from the truth… shudder…

Go for Music for Torching next – it’s great! Though her short fiction is my absolute fave (Things you should know in partic-yoo-lar).
